What Distinguishes Liberty?

Our Calling

Why Liberty Stands Apart

Liberty Bible Church is a blend of historic Baptist faith with Charismatic freedom. The following provides more details of what distinguishes us as a local church:

Boldly Biblical Supernatural Worldview

(a) We unapologetically teach Scripture as its original audience understood it—alive with unseen powers, spiritual conflict, and the authority of Christ.

(b) Our preaching integrates early church thought and supernatural theology in a way that equips people for real-world spiritual warfare.

(c) We provide in-depth and clear explanations on topics such as the divine council, intelligent evil (demons), demonic oppression, deliverance, etc., that are often overlooked or downplayed elsewhere.

Intentional Freedom Ministry

(a) This is just not theory, but our mission explicitly includes freeing people oppressed by sin, Satan, and the world through the power of God and Jesus Christ.

(b) We will be hosting freedom services, prayer meetings, and a healing ministry, something rare in the region.

(c) We will be training believers to recognize, confront, and overcome spiritual strongholds.

Discipleship Model that Builds Warriors, Scholars, and Servants

(a) Our teaching and training focuses on equipping believers as Kingdom warriors—not just attenders or consumers.

(b) Our new members’ courses, The Gospel, Biblical Supernatural Worldview, Spiritual Warfare and Prayer, and Character & Virtue form a clear growth pathway from new believer to mature, mission-driven disciple.

(c) This creates a culture where members are trained, tested, and released for ministry.

Courageous Cultural Engagement

(a) Liberty speaks directly and biblically to cultural issues—sexual ethics, political realities, and the erosion of truth—without compromise.

(b) We do not hide from controversial topics; instead, we equip believers to think biblically and act boldly in the public square.

(c) This positions us as a voice of clarity and conviction in an age of compromise.

Strategic Community Focus

(a) We are planting with a multi-town mindset—Seymour, Ansonia, Woodbridge, Derby, Oxford, Beacon Falls, Naugatuck, Bethany, Shelton—targeting the Valley with outreach, events, and relationship-building.

(b) Efforts such as our Bookbag Giveaway, Winter Clothing Giveaway, planned Freedom Nights, etc., show we are visible in the community from the start.

(c) While we are a small church, as we are just beginning, we are multicultural. Our pastor and his wife are African-American, while the congregation is mostly Anglo-American. Truly a sign and wonder in a time of racial tension.
